“From ceilings and sinks to shelves and phone and computer outlets, they all had to be just so,” according to Ms. Collins, who wrote dozens of novels throughout her career. The home has five writing desks throughout and Collins did most of her work in two studies—one off her bedroom and another next to the gym.
