This past Monday, Hilton & Hyland’s Chairman and Co-Founder Rick Hilton, alongside both his wife, Kathy Hilton, and fellow agent, Bjorn Farrugia, stepped out in support for Shannon Watts, founder and volunteer of the Moms Demand Action, and the launch of her book “Fight Like a Mother.”
They weren’t alone as quite a number of Hollywood’s elite showed up in strong support, with guests including Sophia Bush, Brooklyn Decker, Amber Heard, Jordana Brewster, and more.
Shannon Watts founded the grassroots group Moms Demand Action in the wake of the Sandy Hook massacre as a way to keep our schools and children safe across the nation. She discussed pushing through the bouts of hopelessness and outlined steps that guests can take at a local level.
Attendees also heard from La’Shea Cretain, a Louisiana mother who was shot five times by an ex-boyfriend in front of her children and who still has the bullets inside of her body. She has since become an active member of Moms Demand Action and recounted her struggle to recover from her injuries after being told she would never walk or talk again.
“As we’re all faced with trying to prevent tragic incidents like this from happening in the future, Kathy and I believe we should all embrace keeping our children, and each other, safe as a non-partisan issue,” states the Chairman and Co-Founder.
