Electronic music superstar Anton Zaslavski, better known by his stage name Zedd, has finally found a buyer for his Benedict Canyon spec mansion. The modern hillside compound will trade one awarding-winning owner for another with Hollywood’s Kenya Barris reportedly paying $18.35 million for the property.
The film and television writer and producer, as well as creator of the hit ABC sitcom “Black-ish,” acquired the house for a significant discount, with the initial asking price back in the summer of 2021 sitting at $26.5 million. Despite the price cut, Zaslavski still walks away from the property having fetched $2.4 million more than he paid for it some five years ago.
David Kramer, broker and recently appointed president of Beverly Hills-based Hilton & Hyland, and Andrew Buss, also with Hilton & Hyland, were the listing agents, according to the multiple listing service (MLS).
A fountain leads into the atrium where towering white walls and multitier concrete flooring evokes the best of art gallery spaces. Impressive architectural elements include a floating staircase, a sleek wall of built-ins and retractable corner walls.
In the home’s more intimate spaces like the primary suite, such as fireplaces, wood floors and ceilings and a spa-like bathroom, make for a cozier existence. Other interior glitzy highlights include a chef’s kitchen complete with Korean barbecue-style grills, an indoor-outdoor gym and soundproofed movie theater with a 4K laser projector.
Views of the surrounding canyon or the city below can be taken in from almost anywhere in the house, be that from one of the home’s private terraces, the roof deck or the backyard that encompasses an infinity-edge pool and hot tub, fire pit and al fresco dining area.
